 The Mardi Gras Challenge was introduced to our calendar of events in the year 2001 as the Ultimate Dance Competition. Young dancers compete in troupes within a prestigious production at the glamorous “home of dance”, Sadler’s Wells Theatre. This has become an extremely popular bi-annual event, attracting a wide audience from the world of dance. Fantastic prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places with an additional special producers prize given on the night to the most entertaining dance. Past judges have included Miss Gillian Lynne CBE, renowned for her original productions of ‘Cats’ and ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’ and Chet Walker creator of ‘Fosse’. |
